Mini Closet Makeover

I've been wanting to get back into blogging but didn't know where to start, until I was face to face with this beauty! I decided to do a little mini closet makeover for Maya while she was in school. It wasn't awful but it was messy!

Before:
The top shelf had keepsakes, old electronic boxes, American Girl Dolls and porcelain dishes that I insisted she save.

The middle shelf had a few Target bins that she kept her underwear, socks and hats in. She also used this shelf to house items she didn't know where to put, art collection, laptop & an old notebook.

Lots of things shoved in and under stuff.

The bottom two bins crack me up, it was a free for all. CRAPTASIC!

I emptied everything out and gave the closet a good vacuuming, and washed the Closet-Maid shelves with warm soapy water.

During:

I put all of her special keepsakes in the Ikea boxes and labeled them. She has her American Girl dolls, her "blankie" and few other items that are special to her.

Next I hung all of her tops short sleeve to long sleeve, then tried to color code them. All of her scarves are hung on a hanger as well.

Next I took the existing Target bins and sorted through them. I then labeled each bin with Martha Stewart's chalkboard labels. Socks, Unders, Belts & Hats. I really wish I could find more of those bins!

Lastly, I put her shoes back onto the shelves. I thought about an over the door plastic shoe holder, but I wanted to check with her first.

After:

The Finished Product! I hope she likes it :)

When God gives you tomatoes, make Salsa!

So all of my tomato plants are finally ripening all at once! What's a girl to do with all these you ask? Make Salsa of course!

Wash, dice and then mix . . .

Add 1 cap full of Tastefully Simple's Simply Salsa Mix, stir it up and pop it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to let the flavors come to life . . .

Eat with your favorite tortilla chips!

Lovin' Lemon Slush & Sun
